The “blackout”

Yesterday was an active day in the debate over “piracy” vs. “censorship”.
I noticed this (first image below) when I came into this blog to add a post, so I thought it could be an interesting (tiny) historical document to collect and share some screenshots of what different organizations had to say about the whole kerfuffle.

What Wikipedia had to say.

What Mozilla had to say.


A site encouraging the rest of us to join the protest. With a VERY long list of strike participants.


People could black out their photos on flickr…
…or black out their blogs on Tumblr.

All in all, it definitely provided food for thought. And I even saw an afterthought today…
